Q1 How long will my keepsake take to make?
As your memory keepsake is made from start to finish by myself, once work is started on your keepsake it should take between 3 - 6 weeks, depending on type of keepsake ordered. I am usually booked up at least a couple of months in advance. Please see my turnaround times to see when work will commence on next ordered keepsakes. Once your order and payment have been received your order details will be confirmed. You will also receive confirmation when you clothing arrives safely to me. If you require your keepsake for a specific date, please contact me prior to ordering to confirm that I can meet that date.
Please note: The next available time slot for work to commence is only allocated once order is confirmed and a payment is received. I operated on a first come, first served basis and slots can fill up very quickly at busy times such as the run up to Christmas.
Q2 How many items of clothing are needed for my keepsake?
A general guide to how many items of clothing needed for each product is given on the product listing. More or less items may be needed depending on size of clothing. Please feel free to let me know if there are specific items you wish to be included by adding a note to these items, or if you would like certain details included, like frills or pockets etc. Feel free to seperate them into 'must include' and 'extras' if you wish. Notes can also be pinned or sellotaped to individual items of clothing with instructions. Any whole items not used will be returned to you with your completed order.
Q3 How do I send my clothing to you?
When you place your order I'll email you an address to send your fabrics to. I suggest that you use a mail bag to send your items as these are waterproof and will protect your clothing. I recommend that you send the parcel either by recorded delivery or via a courier as this minimises the chances of your precious fabrics being lost. Please make sure you put your details inside the parcel so that I know who the clothes belong to.
Q4 What types of clothing are suitable?
Cotton fabrics are the best to use but most fabrics can be used, such as shirts, blouses, t-shirts and sweatshirts. It's advised that you don't send very loose or hand knitted woollens, denim, leather and pvc fabrics or very delicate or sheer fabrics. If you are not sure if an item can be included, please do get in touch and I can advise you. Please be aware when choosing your clothing that if your keepsake will be washed not to include dry clean only items.
Q5 Can my keepsake be personalised?
Yes, the price of your item covers personalisation of one hand embroidered square on a quilt or blanket of up to 6 words. A name or short message is popular. Additional hand embroidered squares can be added at extra cost. Up to 4 words can be added to the paw of a memory animal for extra charge. An additional short message can be added to the foot of some memory animals.
Q6 Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes. gift vouchers are available for various amounts. They are redeemable within 2 years from date of issue and can be ordered through the shop. You can select value you would like the voucher to be for and have it sent either directly to the recipient or to yourself.
Q7 How do I care for my keepsake?
The patchwork memory quilts and memory blankets are normally washable on a cool delicate wash. It is preferable to line dry these items if possible.
To iron, use a medium heat. On memory blankets, please do not iron the minky side, as this can flatten the dimples.
Please note, a small amount of shrinkage may occur the first time your keepsake quilt is washed. This is quite normal and adds to the beauty of the quilt.
Due to the delicate nature of the keepsake animals, it is recommended that these are not washed, but may be sponged using a suitable cleaning agent,
